You definitely have a winner with that rifle. After all the kidding I did with you over the years for not shooting it, I'm delighted that you did take it to the range and found out how good a rifle it really is. I like the setup you chose with the Eotech mounted forward. I don't blame you for not ever selling it.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This top photo came up on the home page. I bought this rifle in 2000, and never shot until 2018 (second picture, which also shows my collapsable, homemade brass catcher). It boggles my mind. It currently wears a forward-mounted EOTECH 512 on a Springfiled factor scout mount that is current issue on the M1A SOCOM, but mine of course came without it as it was made before the SOCOM was around, about 1999 if I recall what Springfield told me at the time. It's really a beautiful rifle, even with the black stock, and one of the last rifles I'd ever part part with.
