Harvey:
While we produced numerous variations of the 16" carbines with 1/9 twists, the 20" version that I had also was in 1/9. We sold them all at $550, which at the time was very competitive. Over the course of 3-4 shows, we probably sold 50+ of them. We started with kits and added Rock River lowers, and our total cost per rifle was about $400, so it was a profitable venture. We also built StG FALs from kits and sold them at about $850. Profits were lower since we had to use DSA lowers which probably added half the cost. Before anyone asks, my friend had a Class 2 Manufacturing License, so it was all legal to build these rifles. Harvey/MO |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My first AR-15 was the SP-1, with the triangular fore end. 1-12 twist, so it didn't shoot the 69 gr. bullet. However, we only had 1-200 yard ranges at the time, and it transitioned many of my smallbore shooters into Hi-Power, and onward to the DCM M-14 match rifles. HGW |
