I haven't owned a 4006 but I owned a 4053, smaller, basically a shorter barrel (web photo below), and recoil was not an issue. However it was a DAO, so that was a problem. In a 40oz. 1911, the .40 is like firing low-power 9mm loads, lotta fun. Dittos in my 1006, which surprised me by feeding, firing and ejecting .40S&W FMJ ammo. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I bet it handles the .40 S&W beautifully. The best models chambered in that round I have shot were Herb's SIG P229 and the HK USP 40. They both handled the round very well and felt like I was shooting a hot 9MM round especially compared to the XD 40 I used to have, along with the Glock 22 I have shot. They just handled it better. I'd really be curious how the 4006 handled it. |
