For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I haven't owned a 4006 but I owned a 4053, smaller, basically a shorter barrel (web photo below), and recoil was not an issue. However it was a DAO, so that was a problem.  In a 40oz. 1911, the .40 is like firing low-power 9mm loads, lotta fun. Dittos in my 1006, which surprised me by feeding, firing and ejecting .40S&W FMJ ammo.
