I used to really like those. I recall when they came out. I wanted one but couldn't afford one at the time (mid-80s). I was a hard core .44 Special fan at the time. In all seriousness they really weren't that practical, being a large N-frame. Even with a short barrel they were still belt guns requiring a holster, probably an OWB, eh? | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I just stumbled across this old conversation when it was linked to a picture of Herb's M24 on the Home Page. A beautiful revolver but I, too, thought the barrel looked more in proportion to a 2" snubby rather than a 3". So I scaled the dimensions and compared them with online photos of a M24 with a known 6 1/2" barrel. My barrel length answer came up just over 3 inches! It is indeed the bulk of that N-frame that makes the barrel look so short. Still a handsome gun, though. Stu |
