For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If the ammunition is USGI, it will not be corrosive. Ammunition for the M1 Carbine during WWII was the only long gun type being produced in the US as non-corrosive (vs .30-'06). OTOH, foreign surplus ammunition for the M1 Carbine could be corrosive. Years ago, I bought a bunch of French Vietnam era Carbine ammunition, and it was definitely corrosive. Harvey |
