For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yes, it has to be 8x58. I'd love to know of a source for ammo. Whoever sold it to me back in the Coompuserve days told me it was 11.7x51Rmm Danish;  I think they were confusing it with the Remington rolling block rifles of the same vintage.  Mine is an 1889 model, mfg. in 1892, with the 1910 safety added.
