| Did you read about the young Lt. that went missing back in February while on a cross country ski trip? To the best of my knowledge he still hasn't been found. The Marines there for training at the time wanted to go look for him but were not allowed because of dangerous conditions. | ||||||

I would have thought that the Winter Warfare site at Pickel Meadows came under the rules of either the Marines or the National Park Service, but stranger things happen in the Golden State. Here are some photos of what it's like there now. When I went there, there was very little built up, and we mostly moved on snow shoes rather than skis. Harvey |
