I also mentioned I didn't like the barrel shroud, which I'm sure you read. It took me a while to get used to the grips, but this revolver has been out for many years and I've gotten used to seeing them. They are also available same shape normal colors, sold as the Jerry Miculek Grip by Hogue (below), so that's not a big deal to me. You knew ALL S&W revolvers now come in round butt configuration, right? But everyone makes "square butt" shaped grips so you can have that feel if you want it. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Grips and barrel shroud for starters. I guess I'm just an old fogie who still owns and shoots the Smiths from back in the 60's and 70's, my favorite sidearm for hunting is a 2 1/2 inch SS 357 with a round butt, another favorite is my MD 28 four inch Highway Patrolman, also a great hunting sidearm. I also have a MD 29 purchased around '72 or '73, think I paid $300 back then, lives in my safe now, too much recoil to shoot often enough to stay proficient. |
