I guess it depends on what is your definition of accuracy. The first Mannlicher (6.5x54 with Lyman receiver sight) has given me occassional 2 inch groups at 100 yards, 2.5 inches with good loads. 3 inches is more the norm with the other 6.5 and the 9x56...Alas, the eagle eye is long gone to make good use of open sights with any degree of consistency. The 244, a 1956 Stoeger carbine has given me some 1 1/4 inch groups, but usually 1 3/4 is more the norm. The 30/06 carbine is usually between 1 3/4-2 1/2 inches, depending on the bullet. It does not like the 110 & 220 grain bullets. HGW |
