Don’t get me wrong, I too love great triggers...read 1911! And a few CZ SAO pistols. I only have a Sigma because I needed a “truck gun”. Back in 2010, I had to often drive through a terrible part of town to see not one, but two of my brother in laws, that were in the same hospital and both with terminal cancer. Of course, no guns are allowed in the hospital, and I didn’t want to have my “good” gun stolen from my truck.
I considered a police trade in revolver, but settled on the (brand new) Sigma for $20 more than the trade in. As it turns out, the semi auto worked out better than the revolver in a way that I had not counted on. Still not wanting my “cheap” gun to be stolen and used in a crime of any kind, I started taking the gun apart in the parking lot, only taking in with me the barrel and slide and the ammo filled magazine. No gun in the hospital! And if someone wanted to steal the frame, no slides and very few barrels were available back then. So the goon wasn’t killing anyone with my pistol. It takes about 10 seconds to take apart and 15-20 seconds to put it back together for the ride home. For my purposes, the Sigma was perfect. And since I had it, I shot it, a lot! It broke in nicely and still shoots well to this day. Nowadays, it sees very little range time compared to my other guns. But with a CT laser guard, it makes a good nightstand gun. It is one of a couple that are at the ready anytime I am home. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'm a firm believer in to each his own. For me, there are too many other guns I'd like to have to spend the time working a Sigma trigger down to acceptable weight and feel. Admittedly I'm picky about triggers, but I think it would simply take more time and effort than I'm willing to give. |
