I had a Kimber BP-10 which was a polymer double-stack 1911. It was an oddity, and the only magazines I found for it were on a forum for sale post that was 5 years old. Turns out the guy still had them and was surprised that I wanted them.
I was initially impressed with it, but it was a FAT grip and I didn't shoot it much and the holster thing was a bit of a problem as well with the trigger guard being a bit TOO big to fit in a standard 1911 holster.
Image below from TJ Parmele - Image Title: Kimber BP10 II A modern day remake of the venerable 1911. This model by Kimber is on a polymer hi-cap frame. It's light, laser accurate, and just a hoot to shoot and a breeze to carry. I am really happy with this acquisition. It takes either 10 or 13 round double stack magazines. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Well, I love 1911s, and I like Glock pistols a whole lot. So for me, I’d have one in a quick second. I have an all black, older Kimber (pre-II) that looks just like that fake one. If you could combine the reliability and (relatively) low cost of the Glock, with the ergonomics and accuracy of the 1911, what’s not to like? I’d do it for sure... |
