Funny you mention the Sigma. I just dug mine out the other day. For all the bad press they receive, mine is actually pretty good. The trigger is (actually, was) I imagine, not unlike the Glock NY triggers. It was tough when new. Now, it is real close to 6 1/2 lbs. Not bad at all. Very shoot-able. It would make a good shtf/bug out/go bag, gun. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'm not sure I could give you an explanation that satisfies you but some companies should stay out of certain arenas. Glock should never build a 1911--or a revolver for that matter. Colt should never build a striker-fired polymer pistol similar to the Glock. I realize I'm pigeonholing companies by their historical record and reputation, but companies earn reputations and then generally have to live with them, it's that way in any business. In the US you'd drop your jaw if you saw school buses built by Lincoln or Cadillac, for example. Some diversity is considered thinking outside the box--people of a certain age were quite surprised when Cadillac started making SUVs, and back to the topic, when Smigh & Wesson started making 1911s, or for that matter Glock wannabee pistols (remember the original Sigma, which earned them a court case from Glock). But you cross a line at some point. Perhaps I'm too set in my ways, but there are certainly enough 1911s on the market with Gaston sticking his fingers into that pie as well. |
