Every time I look at that photo of my Colt 9mm Lightweight Commander I am embarrassed because it truly does not do the pistol justice. I think it's time I try to take a better photo of it, one that better represents the condition of the finish.(Maybe when the Pandemic is over I'll have some spare time.  )

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Since I featured the six- and seven-inch 1911s on the home page a couple days ago, leading to a discussion on our preferences, with you saying you liked the Commander next best after the GM, I featured a Commander belonging to one of our own by way of fairness after our long-barrel lovefest. But maybe the connection to our discussion was a bit ambiguous? Anyway, that's why it's there.
