For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where:   It's not a bad photo, but I'd welcome additional photos!  Winter outdoor light is often good because the sun is low in the horizon and it is easy to get a nice exposure yet no hot spots that flash tends to cause.  Jerry, and Mike as well, used to take many if not most of their shots outdoors.  If you have a patio with a table you could try a couple shots without flash and see if you like it.
