i guess it was the next improvment of the colt line. sure ended up with a micky mouse way of getting the trigger linkage by the magazine.
Considering the very good trigger system on the 1911, it is surprising to me that the BHP went off in such a different direction. Maybe it was Saive, rather than JMB who decided on that?At any rate, the BHP trigger can be improved, the magazine disconnect can be removed, the older manual safety can be replaced with a better one, and the BHP would have been over 80 years old had Browning USA not dropped it from their line.
