We got steak at least once a week, done on a char grill much like a fancy restaurant and, they were cooked to order.  A plane load of Marines on a cross country flight stopped at our base for the night, it was a steak night and that plus the fact they were sleeping in real beds in an air conditioned barracks had them asking if they could desert the Corps and join up with us!
