I agree, I really can't imagine ever carrying off-body. I realize that being retired lets me do lots of things working people can't do, but I only carried on-body when I was working. I have always used an inside the waistband holster for better concealment and used tuckable versions when I had to dress up.
On the other hand, my wife has a gun purse with a steel cable in the shoulder strap to make slashing the strap and grabbing it almost impossible. The purse never rides in a shopping cart, and she is mindful of it all the time. She has never found a holster she liked, so everything is different for her. Her relative lack of interest in experimentation is partly due to knowing I am nearly always with her, and I am always armed. Purse snatchers don't respond well to "stop thief stop"......they do, however respond well to "drop my bag or I'll shoot you to pieces" I certainly understand the sentiment, but actually shooting and killing someone over a stolen purse would put you in the express lane to prison... |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: It makes zero sense, at least to me, that anyone who feels the need to carry a pistol would even think of carrying it in a purse, fanny pack or back pack. When you need it you need it NOW, you don't want it a block away and moving further away every second!
