Heh. See, I think the Webley and Enfield revolvers are one of the sexier looking revolver sets made over the years. The Webley MK IV I no longer have was chambered in .38/200 which was a derivative of the .38 S&W IIRC with a particularly heavy for caliber 200 grain bullet. The cartridges aren't going to set anything on fire. I think the ballistics are right at 620 fps with energy at 176 foot pounds of energy. Seems to be close to the energy of the .380 ACP... which is about right for the time: WWI and WWII and certainly in line with the .38 SPL loads of the era. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but for some reason I'm of the opinion that we are the ONLY country to ever make great looking and working revolvers. I just happen to think the various English, French, Italian, Russian, etc., etc. are plain ugly! I also think their cartridges are weak/substandard to boot! It saw service at some time in Israel, either as new production from Webley, or as WWII surplus. Either way, it's fascinating! |
