The AuuMag was a great gun for silhouette shooting. My younger eyes helped it produce ragged 5 shot groups at 50 yards, and a 200 yard Ram went down when hit. Not so with the M-27
Alas, being made in the early 70's, stainless steel wasn't what it is today. TDE used different steels of different hardness, and I had 2 bolts break the rear ears off at the cocking piece. Finally traded it off to Eric Simondson as part payment for my 22/250 OTC rifle, a Thompson Contender in 17 Mach IV and re barreling aM-70into 358 Norma Mag. HGW |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You would have loved our recent annual display show at the OGCA meeting. One of the collector displays featured a fellow who collected Auto-Mags. He had a nice display of them as well as accouterments. I wish I had thought to take photos. |
