To my eye they always looked the same dimension wise, the 28 had an "unpolished" finish and smaller grips while the 27 was a high polish, deep blue finish with much nicer grips.
I always thought of the Highway Patrolman as something a Highway Patrolman could use on some punk's head in the unlikely event that he left his blackjack on the kitchen table! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You could look at it that way, although technically it's backwards, as the original .357 Magnum became the Model 27, and the Model 28 later was an on offshoot of the Model 27. |
