Kim: PMFJI.
I think this is a huge mistake but it’s the kind of silliness you get when the military draws down after a war. Under "normal" circumstances, that would be true. But the Marines are pivoting to something entirely different than a draw down. This is a change in mission per the plan they are following, which started before recent military events in Europe. The other fact vs a draw down is simply the lack of recruiting success that most of the service branches are experiencing, which is preventing them from filling needed open personnel slots. Many in the younger generation evidently aren't keen on serving, and the military is being lead into some pretty stupid wokeness by their political leaders which is a probably turn off to some who would want to serve. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: As I understand it, the Marines are removing sniping from basic infantry but will still have snipers in Recon and other SOF units. I think this is a huge mistake but it’s the kind of silliness you get when the military draws down after a war. |
