I have a Springfield '03 high number that will shoot one minute of angle on a regular basis with GI ball from back in the late 20's and early 30's. I have always heard the Springfield was the most accurate battle rifle ever made? | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think the .303 can be very accurate but I've had more experience with, and better accuracy with, the .30-06. My experience is in no way definitive, though. At least you have experience with both, so it is more than most people. I think they are pretty comparable, although the '06 is far more versatile in loadings. I read somewhere that the military .303 in a 25" military barrel is more than capable of 2 MOA, all things being equal. Probably similar results for the '06 in a military rifle. Any interest in you taking both the P14 and M1917 to the range for a shoot off? Harvey |
