I have a Springfield '03 high number that will shoot one minute of angle on a regular basis with GI ball from back in the late 20's and early 30's.
Excellent performance! I have always heard the Springfield was the most accurate battle rifle ever made? Depends on who is making the statement. The Germans might say the Mauser, the Brits the Lee Enfield, the Russians the Moisin Nagant, and some Americans the M1917. And which variant of the M1903 would that be? It's too broad a statement, IMO, Robert. Just like Patton's statement of the M1 Garand being "the greatest battle implement ever devised.” A bit of well intentioned hyperbole? Harvey |
