I don't think Taurus revolvers were considered as negatively as their pistols back in the day, and I've had a Taurus PT145 as my car gun for years without any problems. I think it used to be luck of the draw with pistols, but I'd feel very good with one of their revolvers.
You might also take a look at the Rock Island Armory AL9.0 revolver. It might be a bit more in $$$, but it comes as a 3" version. Or Charter Arms has a 9mm Pit Bull, IIRC. But price-wise, I think the Taurus 905 is probably the least expensive. Their 3" model is DAO, however. Hope this helps. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I’m thinking about getting a small inexpensive revolver. Considering 9mm so I don’t have to buy .38's. Not at all interested in .357. I’d like a 3" barrel. I’m not a big Taurus fan but have seen some very positive reviews of their revolvers, lately. As well as some negative S&W reviews. What am I gaining or losing going 9mm instead of .38? Yeah, I know I’ll need moon clips for 9mm. I don’t see that as a problem, is it? What says the hive? |
