I believe that the maximum height for a Navy pilot around 1970 was 6' 3".  One reason that I remember that is that I was about 6' 2 ½ so I barely fit the requirement (so to speak.)  I did a bit of searching online and it looks like some things may have changed a bit.  Check this out.
