| I talked to someone in the know (my crs is kicking in!), and they told me Federal Auto match ammo will keep up (quality and accuracy wise) with the expensive target 22 rounds. The power of WalMart purchasing caused that excellent ammo to be bulk packed and sold cheaply at WalMart, like most of their non-gun products. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Jerry: Very bad news about the ammo situation and especially about the bulk-packed Federal .22 at Walmart. A few years ago I was having some trouble with a new Ruger Mk II. Dealing with the problem I had several conversations with Ruger. They eventually had me send it back for rechambering which solved the problem. Anyway, I had a very nice conversation with the very cordial and helpful had of the Mk II program who told me that all their .22 handgun testing was done with bulk-packed Federal from Walmart because it was the best they could find, and it was all he recommended to their customers. I switched to that ammo and never regretted it. Herb |
