In IDPA they set up a separate class for clip-loading revolvers - speedloaders just couldn't compete!

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I always used the tool but I understand what you mean. The moon clips are great for a self-defense revolver but I also disliked them for range use. But as a reloader the Auto Rim cases didn't bother me. I remember you mentioning the plastic clips but I've not seen them to this day. You know what's amusing to me? Clip-loading is very popular with revolver competitors, and S&W even sells a .357 already set up for clip loading these days. I believe Jerry Miculek started the popularity of that. But I suppose competitors will endure various annoyances for an edge that helps them win. |
