Mark, Allan and All
Mark, I understand there is a lot of kidding going on in this thread, but there is also a lot of serious comments. I can understand some of the reasoning behind the small groups that miss the point of aim. However my experience with guns has been hunting and the sighting in your weapon. After joining the Air Force, all my qualifying with the M1 Carbine depended on good high point count on the target and not a good close group over on the four ring. For about a year I shot on a small bore rifle team while stationed at Ft Mead, Md and again that 10 ring was about all that really counted and not the small group over to the side. For these reasons, the target below from Harvey Wilson is an example of what I believe makes up a target worthy of posting. Targets posted by Jerry is another example of great targets worthy of posting. YMMV Allan, I continue to agree with all your comments. I just wish I could express feelings and thoughts as well as you do. |
