I have to laugh at the faux silencers I see at the range. I think the Swedish 38 is tactical enough as is but then I'm old school.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That would be the M40 rifle. Sweden bought a couple thousand K98 rifles from Germany in 1939 and converted them to fire the Swedish M32 8x63 machine gun round. They held four rounds in the magazine and were fitted with a muzzle brake as you say. And also issued to machine gun teams as you also noted. That was a different thing than the muzzle brake sold here for the threaded 6.5x55 rifles--I quite agree with you that's a silly thing. But certain American gun guys have to "tactical up" anything and everything, eh?
