That makes perfect sense.   It would be a start, but not a finish, eh?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: for troops that had never held a rifle it was a start. first was snapping in, a study in breath control and finger pressure. also in positions and getting into the correctly. use of the sling and how to get it tight enough. for this there was no need to ty up the kd range
