I don't know that you "went farther," actually , as I believed then and believed now that I was speaking to the cognescenti. Cooper's Principles of Personal Defense goes into what you said and a scads more. If they burned every book on fighting technique tomorrow but allowed us to all read and digest Cooper's book, I believe we'd be all be prepared mentally to confront danger as we found it. Problem is most people have not read the book and those who have have not taken it to heart. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I agree, but I'll go farther; the willingness to defend yourself by going on the offensive is a good start but only that! Without the knowledge of tactics and the practice to validate that knowledge even the stoutest-hearted woman is going to be in for a good drubbing in such a situation. After striking that cell phone-to-the-temple blow, what does she do next? His role is easy; he just lifts the pistol-holding hand above her block and pistol-whips the daylights out of her. How does she disengage? What is her next move against a pistol-wielding attacker? Nice photo - phony situation. Stu |
