Wow, a "P7-ish" 1911, that would be something. Speaking of weird stuff, there is a custom 1911 company here in SW Ohio offering HPs and 1911s with the SPS conversion, and calling them the BHAdvanced Carry Concept. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Interestingly, I have never, that I recall--which may not be accurate--seen an ODI Viking for sale. Yet I have a seen an actual Seecamp conversion for sale, at OGCA. Not surprising as the company (Omega Defense Industries) was only in business for less than 2 years. I have read various production numbers from 300 to 1400 units, including some built from bankrupt ODI components by Essex Arms. The Viking Combat Model was the Commander size pistol, and that was the only model built. The Viking Model was a Government size pistol, but was never produced. Seecamp probably custom built several thousand conversions, mostly 1911s. But I do recall talking with the Seecamp Conversion collector that I sold my Viking and converted .38 Super Commander to, and he said he also had a converted BHP. I spent some time looking for a "Double Ace" 1911 style pistol back in the day when I was looking at 1911 conversions. Believe it or not, a company (Caravel? Arms) produced a 1911 conversion that made the 1911 into squeeze cocker. Harvey |
