Regarding those who are hard core about the terminology--mostly gun writers and instructors--they never let up.  It's always used one way with no explanation.  All they've done is replace "pull" with "press" and they expect EVERYONE to follow their lead.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yes, communication is all-important.  I just don't agree that this is a real communication problem, especially when the word is likely to be used in combination rather than on its own, as in "Press the trigger slowly to the rear until the gun firing takes you by surprise."
