I think you refuse to see the obvious. Those in the "press the trigger" community are simply trying to force-feed a word usage that sounds alien to most ears. The only reason it has become accepted is because the "cool guys" picked up on it and now the rest of the guys and gals simply have to use it or they won't be cool. It's schoolyard nonsense. That is the sum total of the reason that word is in use and and anything else is just smokescreen. Adopt it into your own lexicon and The Tacticools have won. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This forum has always catered especially to those who are new to shooting, and we have always shown respect to new shooters. Just because someone is not a wordsmith doesn't mean they cannot be a safe and successful shooter. Not my intent at all and certainly not meant as an insult to new shooters. My point was just that semantic differences pale before the simple mechanics - the trigger only moves one way! My apologies if that tongue-in-cheek comment was seen in the wrong way. Stu |
