For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This is the Colt on which the factory safety lock broke when dropper on a carpeted floor, so I had a King's extended safety fitted. I opted for stainless as the color didn't matter, and I thought the rust resistance was practical. I later developed a dislike for extended safeties, realizing they were tactically unnecessary, something I believe to this day, so I removed the extended lever but leaving the wide shelf. Looks a bit weird I admit. A few years later I found a blued Springfield factory safety and fitted it, and the modified King's safety has sat in my parts box ever since. |
