Besides Q-tips I also keep pipe cleaners, both smooth and bristle types. On toothbrushes, do any of you guys cut the bristles down lo as shown in the the original photo for the purpose of making them firmer?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I've pared the handle end down to a flat tool that lets me depress the slide lock detent of a 1911 when reassembling. Very clever! I also noticed some (not recycled) Q-Tips in the kits, used for applying grease on hard to reach places. Harvey
