Thanks for the info that FN was not involved with the BDM. I assumed they were based on the Hi-Power-like appearance.
The BDM was, supposedly, designed for a request for proposal by the FBI. Unfortunately for Browning, they didn't win the contract. They were produced only in Utah, and FN never was interested in them. Interestingly, they BDM slide was actually slimmer than the BHP, with a nicer fitting grip.Depending on the year they were produced, a lot of them came with only 10-rd magazines (thanks Bubba Bill). Now I'm looking for a cheap BDM based on our talk here. Looks like they are generally not cheap.. The least expensive one I've seen for sale was $699 at a Cabelas in Oregon. Most are $800+. (Maybe I should have kept mine.) Maybe you can find one for less. Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: '92 was the same year we got a BDM into the shop. Thanks for the info that FN was not involved with the BDM. I assumed they were based on the Hi-Power-like appearance. I shot the G23 in the 90s when Kim bought one, but as you might recall didn't succumb until Jerry really dragged me into the Glock world in the early 00s. Shooting GSSF really got me going, but I finally saw the light and dropped Glocks after eight years if I recall correctly. Now I'm looking for a cheap BDM based on our talk here. Looks like they are generally not cheap.... |
