Quite simply, it's a personal view. 6 inches, to me, is the longest a handgun barrel should be. Outside of that, I think they just get a bit unwieldy. I have an 8 inch .38 SPL Python match barrel that I was thinking of putting onto a S&W 15-3. Now, I don't know... | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have a '72 vintage nickel Python, 6 inch barrel that I consider one of if not the most beautiful handgun ever made yet I think this 8 inch is just plain ugly, I wonder why that is?
