I have to say I am a fan of the extractor assembly on the Charter Arms, and I think they are better quality today than ever.
I think they have designed a better solution to using pistol rounds in revolvers than any of the major revolver makers. I am wondering however if I am the only one the forum who sees the long cylinder on ALL these other 9mm revolvers as a downside? Probably! OTOH, the manufacturers don't seem to mind producing them, likley for cost savings. Some smart alecs might consider it as adding to the barrel length! Seriously, I understand your concerns about the bullet "jump" from the longer cylinders, but I've yet to read a serious writer on a gunzine make it a big deal. (Maybe I've missed it?) Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have to say I am a fan of the extractor assembly on the Charter Arms, and I think they are better quality today than ever. I am wondering however if I am the only one the forum who sees the long cylinder on ALL these other 9mm revolvers as a downside? I understand that it is far easier for the manufacturers to chamber short cartridges for long chambers--they do it all the time and have done so for eons with 38/357, 44Sp/44mag, etc--and I stopped shooting those combos decades ago. With a defensive revolver I also see the larger-longer-heavier gun as less desirable. |
