I haven't gone down that Charter Arms Rimless revolver rabbit hole just yet. It's intriguing to me, but I've had other financial considerations (new roof and new floors in two rooms the joys of "new" home ownership).
I have to say, I do think you are the only one who views that longer cylinder as a detriment. I think if it were an issue, your 905i would be the standard for that cartridge and not the relative rarity it is today. Your 905i is the ONLY one I have seen in the wild. I don't see it impacting accuracy either as I couldn't see a difference between that and say... .357 magnum when shooting DA out of a similar gun. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have to say I am a fan of the extractor assembly on the Charter Arms, and I think they are better quality today than ever. I am wondering however if I am the only one the forum who sees the long cylinder on ALL these other 9mm revolvers as a downside? I understand that it is far easier for the manufacturers to chamber short cartridges for long chambers--they do it all the time and have done so for eons with 38/357, 44Sp/44mag, etc--and I stopped shooting those combos decades ago. With a defensive revolver I also see the larger-longer-heavier gun as less desirable. |
