Although it is understandable that these gun companies want to get out of "gun-unfriendly" states, it would be great if they could offer to take their employees with them at the company's cost. Not all would go of course as people put down roots, but the offer would be appreciated. Well, I suppose we don't know, perhaps such offers were made to some or all employees?
I also heard a rumor that Remington was buying Freedom Group, which seems somewhat backward, but you know how rumors are..... |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I believe that Marlin was bought by Remington in 2007 and became part of the Freedom Group. I have only the gun shop's word that they recently moved production and let go the original work force. It is likely though since Marlin was in New Haven, CT, and Marlin firearms manufacturing was moved to Remington's Kentucky and New York manufacturing facilities after the sale. Now Remington is streamlining and consolidating manufacturing so who knows what is happening. |
