Winchester never quite regained their pre-64 panache, did they? But at least when Winchester (USARC) shut the doors on the New Haven plant not that long ago, and M70s and M94s were "no more," for a while at least , they came back being built by FNH. With FNH the quality was insured this time. Of course the prices--I hear--are ridiculous compared to before. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Good example. I was thinking "Classic Coke." Marlin had some pretty good QA up until a few years ago. I bought new a Marlin 1894 Cowboy for CAS and was quite happy to see that the fit and finish was comparable to the fit and finish on an original Marlin 1893 rifle. If they've lost that level of QA they'll lose a LOT of sales and once the word is out they'll have a terrible time trying to rebuild the customer base. Maybe they should ask Winchester? |
