Thanks Frank. These days the scopes are so reliable that there hardly seems a need for a backup aperture sight, but I can still imagine circumstances where it could come in handy.
I did a little research and Brockman makes a flip up rear sight. Not quite as handy as a flip up sight, but less expensive. NEGC makes an aperture sight which will fit on a Weaver base. They also make a similar sight to fit the Ruger built-in bases. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Dale, Here is a picture of the Redfield Peep sight on a Talley base. The gunsmith had to modify the Talley base with a plate to mount the Peep to. The Peep did not come with the large plate that the Peep is screwed to. In the bottom photo you can see there is a vertical/horz adjustment provided by the slotted screw holes. Frank |
