Much like my tastes as well. The wood carving does coverup a lot of the nice wood grain in the butt, but the rifle does show a lot of classical period German gun making. I could live without the recoil pad, white inlay and spacer as well, but again, part of the times.
The metal engraving was extensive, covering the action, trigger guard, floor plate, part of the barrel and the muzzle cap. HGW |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Harvey, The metal is great except for the scope mount. I would like it a lot better if it didn't have the white inlay, the stock carving, the white line spacer on the grip cap or the recoil pad. No need for the recoil pad for a 270. Of course, that is my opinion. Frank |
