That is a good article especially concerning the handgun itself.
Then there is also the ballistic component of the ammo it shoots. Barrel length, caliber, bullet composition, bullet style. Having the right gun with the wrong bullet, for instance. Lots of variables to consider. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think those things are more important than caliber, handgun style etc. That is just me. Handgun style is relatively unimportant as long as shootability is present: Image below from Mark Freburg - Image Title: Shootability Caliber is arguable for reasons that have been mentioned here. If caliber wasn't important people would carry .22s, .25s, .32s, and .380s with no regard for their ineffectiveness when the chips are down. That worries for me for armed citizens as whole. |
