This is yet another one that I regret trading off... It was in excellent condition and a great example of its type. I always liked the steel Detective Special better than its two lightweight stablemates.
I have always liked the looks of this series of snubbies from Colt but had never owned one. I bought this one and discovered it didn't fit my hand well enough for me to shoot it as well as I'd hoped. The grip felt odd. I put a Tyler T-grip on it and that seemed to help but I still couldn't shoot it well enough to keep it. My next step would have been to put a larger set of Hogue grips on it and that would have destroyed its looks, which were what attracted me to the gun in the first place. So, I sent it on down the pike to a new owner. In hindsight, I should have just removed the T-grips and framed it... |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This is a beautiful little Colt! Image below from Allan Tarvid - Image Title: photos Image Info: This Colt Detective Special appeared at my favorite gun shop and I couldn't resist it. The serial number says it was made in 1961 and the cylinder locks up tight for every chamber (no movement at all). The holster is a tuckable "Workman" model made by Mitch Rosen.
