I think you're right. While I think wood grips are almost always the best looking choice, I've found rubber grips to make a better hand/gun connection while shooting. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I hear you and "I feel your pain." It is frustrating because we gun geeks can fall in love with a gun that has the looks, but we are, after all shooters, and that's the bottom line, isn't it? I have a similar gun, though of course not nearly as gorgeous as that old Colt Dick Special you had. Mine is my Ruger Speed-six, one the more attractive of the Ruger "Six series." The issue stocks were walnut, but those were not for shooting with magnum ammo. Pachmayr made their Compac model that made the gun a perfect shooter, and my Speed-six wears those to this day.
