The Savage in .45ACP would be a NICE addition to a collection. Put in a Shadow Box with a "participation trophy" next to it with a caption: "For coming in 2nd".
The Rubys are all over the place and I really know next to nothing on them. Spain was a busy little beaver making guns for everyone that could buy them in that timeframe. It's just a ubitquitous .32 ACP that I though might interest Eric due to its being all over the place. Spain in general can be real hit or miss on quality in their guns. No offense taken. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: We saw a Savage .45ACP from the US military trials at the last OGCA. Mind blown. I'm a bit down on Rubys only because it doesn't represent one gun, not even one brand or one model. It was a catch-all to represent many guns that came out of Eibar in the very early days and made it not only to France but other European countries as well. And many of them were crap. I would do some serious studying of the history of the "Ruby pistol," and I mean more than a couple Internet articles, before I spent ANY money on a Ruby. My opinion, please feel free to disregard it and it won't hurt my feelings. |
