That makes sense, but I  really thought I'd read that the govt converted some M1s to M2s.  Thanks for setting me straight.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: would be a lot of things to change out to make a M1 INTO  A M2 they use a round bolt to get the weight up,. frame also had to be cut to take lever spring. a operating slide with trip cam on it a disconnector added along with m-2 hammer. also a longer magazine catch. can be done but is a job
